According to TMZ,Dani Mathers - who publicly mocked the elderly woman in a Snapchat picture in July. could potentially face up to six months in jail after it was claimed her victim wants her held to account.
The Los Angeles Police Department charge would be misdemeanor dissemination of private images.
All that is known about the woman so far is that she is believed to be in her seventies.She later deleted the image - and claimed she’d only meant to send it privately to a friend.
The model’s lawyer, Tom Mesereau who famously defended Michael Jackson in his 2005 child molestation case said he hoped "the rumor is not correct".
LA Fitness has banned Mathers for life from its facilities.And radio station KLOS 95.5 has suspended her from her regular slot, TMZ added.
"Dani Mathers never tried to hurt anyone at any time, and certainly never tried to break any law," he added.She also apologized on Twitter ,writing
There is no excuse,""I understand fully the magnitude of this post that I have hurt a lot of people, women"Body shaming is not okay...and not something to joke about.”
